We did it! We're incredible proud to announce that Soul Food Kitchen is the first vegan restaurant to win VisitScotland's Taste Our Best award! That's an incredible achievement.
So what is the Taste Our Best award? It's a new quality assuring scheme that ensures you always get the the best food and drink Scotland can provide! It recognises and celebrates businesses providing locally sourced quality food and drink.
What made us qualify for this award?

∙ Food miles kept to a minimum
∙ Info on where your food has come from
∙ Friendly staff who will know all about the origins of the food on your plate

The award itself recognises our sourcing policy and the quality food and drink we provide. At Soul Food Kitchen, we take pride in using quality plant-based produce and showcasing some of the best local and Scottish producers in the food we prepare. Scotland's food and drink comes from unspoiled habitats, making it perfect for producing high-quality fresh fruit and vegetables.
We believe in making everything from scratch and with the freshest ingredients possible, which includes our kimchi and sauerkraut that are made the traditional way by our polish head chef Tomáš. Our kitchen team also make all their own seitan, raw cheese and sauces. Anything we cannot make onsite we source from local cooperative wholesaler Green City Wholefoods.
Where does our produce come from?
We source all of our bakery items from our local bakery Bavarian Bakehouse.
All of our raw cakes and desserts come from a local start-up bakery Wild and Heart Bakery, which is actually owned and operated by our very own pastry chef Sarah Minor!
Lastly, our produce comes from Glasgow based Fresh Direct.
We are so proud to have this award, as we only want to give the best, freshest, locally-sourced produce to our customers. Be sure to look out for VisitScotland's iconic purple badge as proof of our award!
